City Museums: Collisions I Connections is a conference on city museums and their engagement in city life. The conference will bring people together to talk about how city museums are reconsidering their role in civic life due to the enormous pressure cities face in terms of aging infrastructure, the need for urban regeneration, economic and environmental crises, and social issues such demographic shifts, global diasporas, increasing immigrant and urban Aboriginal populations. The conference will look at city museums under development, urban/suburban city museums, and city museums in large and small cities.

Visas and Medical Insurance: Tourist visas and medical insurance is the responsibility of participants.

Transportation: From the airport the least expensive way to your hotel is by SkyTrain (get off at Burrard Street Station for the Listel Hotel) or by Taxi it will cost approximately $40.

Conference Directions:

The Conference will be held at the Museum of Vancouver in Vanier Park, Kitsilano, Vancouver.

Catch Bus 22 or 2 South from Burrard St. Station and get off at Chestnut Street, the first bus stop after the Burrard Bridge.  Walk north along Chestnut Street for 4 blocks and turn right and walk 2 blocks until you reach the Museum. Taxis are $15 from downtown.
