Expo Ernie stuffed toy
Significance
This is a soft, fuzzy version of the robot mascot of Expo 86 in Vancouver. “Expo Ernie,” as he was known, was intended to represent the friendly face of future technologies, as he beckoned British Columbia into a new world of speedy public transportation and novel public spectacles.
