Joan Seidl
Director of Collections and Exhibitions
Joan began working at the Rock County Historical Society in her hometown of Janesville Wisconsin during high school. She worked in the Education Department at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts and as a curator at the Minnesota Historical Society, before moving to Vancouver in 1983 as the trailing spouse of an academic. After having a couple of kids, Joan began working as Curator of History at the Vancouver Museum in 1992. In 2008, she became Director of Collections and Exhibitions.

Nancy Noble
CEO
Nancy has worked in various Canadian museums for over twenty years, spending several years working in Saskatchewan’s provincial (historic) park system before moving to the Manitoba Museum as Director of Research, Collections and Programs. Currently, she sits on the board of the Alliance for Arts and Culture in Vancouver and the board of the Canadian Museums Association. She also participates in the City of Vancouver’s Cultural Facilities Implementation Team as the representative for Museums.

Shannon Steele
Director of Human Resources & Museum Services
Since joining MOV Shannon has taken on an increasing level of responsibility for “people” and “process” related work for MOV. She is passionate about both. Shannon has a background in community development, social housing, human rights issues and privacy/access to information. Whether the goal is changing a work place culture or changing the world, the starting point for her is always the people involved. Shannon joined MOV in 2003.
